PLEASE HELP! grandma in hospital. ):?

PLEASE HELP! My grandmother is currently in the hospital with severe deep-seated bone pain in her left shin (all anterior). This isn’t the first time that she has been admitted to the hospital with this pain, but no one has been able to figure out what is causing it or how to help her. Our entire family is at wits end, especially my grandmother who has had this pain consistently since March of this year. The pain is excruciating, constant and basically debilitating. There is no quality of life and a woman who walked 6 miles a day and never sat down, now sits in a chair around the clock in horrible pain (she is not even able to lay down in a bed, as complete flexion of the leg is unbearable). Of all of the specialists that have seen her and all of the tests that have been performed, we still have no idea what is causing the pain or how to help her. So far, several things have been ruled out, but nothing has been determined definitively (ruled out – shin splints, stress fracture, DVT, and currently they are ruling out an infection in the spine {osteomylitis}). Any ideas on what this may be would be appreciated … and feel free to ask additional questions.
